Shawls have evolved a higher status as it was considered in the past as just a piece of clothing that provides warmth. Today, they are regarded as a must-have fashion accessory. Now the shawls highlights comfort and style. Makers are emphasizing the application of highly wearable fabric. Shawls are now made from the finest of materials. Pashmina, Cashmere, Silk can be presented as an example of these.

Pashmina Or Cashmere shawls are manufactured from the wool of Kashmir goat. Pashmina fiber has a thickness of 12 to 14 microns, making it very soft, lightweight and pleasurable to wear. These type of shawls are highly in demand and fetch the price demanded for them. These shawls have become status symbol as they used to be in the past. Cashmere Craft offers shawls made of 100 percent wool fabric and designed with vintage appliques in animal and traditional Indian motifs. Rich fabric, elegant colrs, splendid designs make these shawls the most sought-after.

Silk is another the most preferred material for the manufacturing of shawls. Silk is highly absorbent that make it a perfect fabric. It is easy to dye and is perfect wear for all the seasons. Made from the lustrous textile these shawls are ideal for the cool temperatures. Silk shawls are elegant in itself though these are offered in rich and splendid colors. Moreover the aesthetic of the product can be enhanced by innovating  designs. The latest designs of these shawls present them as sequenced, beaded or embroidered as they are embellished with intricate embroidery and prints, beads and sequins. Embroidered design decorated with beads and sequins highlights the beauty of the shawl.

Paisley designed shawls are highly in fashion. These type of shawls were in fashion for nearly 100 years, from around 1780 until the 1870ís. During this time millions were woven, embroidered and printed in Kashmir. It was the woven Kashmir shawls which first caught women's imagination, with European manufacturers quick to emulate by weaving or printing. Paisley produced shawls the most economically and for the longest period, the name becoming synonymous with the place of manufacture.

Angora Shawls are made from the angora wool. Angora wool or Angora fiber refers to the downy coat produced by the Angora rabbit. Angora rabbits produce coats in a variety of colors, from white to black. Good quality angora fiber is around 12-16 microns in diameter, and can cost around 6 dollars per ounce. It felts very easily, even on the animal itself if the animal is not groomed frequently. Angora fur is produced in Europe, Chile, China and the United States.

The kani shawls, which are woven pashmina shawls, are also called jamawars, have an all-over pattern originally used in making the jama, the coat worn by men. They are woven on a fame-loom using countless needles called tooji, which have woolen thread colors attached to them. The master weaver and his helper use written instructions known as talim to weave the shawls. The talim indicate the color and the number of warp threads to be covered. The weavers throws the weft across and after that he calls out the design on the basis of which the different colored threads are woven in.

Indian companies are also investing in R&D to be able to improve their products. Special attention is paid to to the development of fresh, innovative designs for its products. These beautiful shawls are perfect to gift.
